The degradation of test detectors at the ATS is being
carried out under sustained irradiation
by the 90Sr (2 Ci)
b-source irradiation.
The measurements of the detectors
properties (gas gain, dark current, count rate) are being performed
regularly during the test.
To monitor the gas gain, the peak position of the pulse-height
distribution from the 55Fe
X-ray source is controlled.
The scheme of the readout electronics used for the
monitoring is shown below.
Signals from the tested wires are fed to
preamplifier (PA) mounted on the detector sensitve
wire. The PA's non-linearity is
less of 1%.
The signal coming from the wire is integrated with
t = 1 msec
by the specrometrical shaper and then passes to the
12 bit Analog/Digital Converter (ADC).
The data obtained from ADC is analysed and plotted with PC.
